A U.S. Navy F/A-18E fighter jet crashed in southern California during a training mission on Tuesday and the pilot ejected safely, local media reported.
The single-seat Super Hornet from Naval Air Station Lemoore, located in California's Central Valley, crashed at around 10:10 a.m. (1810 GMT) in Kern County.
The pilot was released from a local hospital after a medical check. The crash is under investigation.
